TKS AI Hackathon #2
Saturday August 10th was the second TKS AI Hackathon hosted at Platform Calgary. This Hackathon was available to all high school kids around Calgary, rather than being exclusive to TKS enrolled students.
This Hackathon followed the same sort of setup as last time. I was fortunate enough to get to share with everyone a little bit about a recent scholarship essay that I wrote during the summer on the next technological advancement in education. I predicted it would be AI learning assistants in the classroom.
After introductions we did some ice breakers and I got to meet some new people that I didn’t get to meet last time, which was really great. We then looked at some new advancements in AI, and like last time we broke off into groups to begin creating our idea.
We saw a variety of different ideas this time as well, like predicting scam calls, monitoring traffic, sorting through your emails, and more. Our group’s idea was to create a productivity/accountability calendar that could be hung up on your wall and would act as an organizational tool to help you get things done.
We were also given a book at the end of the hackathon called 12 And A Half: Leveraging The Emotional Ingredients Necessary For Business Success which I will give a review on eventually.
I am very excited to be starting TKS and to share the experience with all of you.
